Hi I am Alexandria, but everyone calls me Alex. I am 19 years old and a Sophomore this year. I am a Criminal Justice major and never really thought about nature. When I think about nature I think about trees, grass, and animals; but I also think allergies. I have seasonal allergies, so me and nature do not get along. I never really enjoyed nature unless I am at the beach, the pool, or a water park. Everything else in between just makes me sneeze and itch.
Don't get me wrong I love nature. I like seeing the flowers bloom in the spring and the leaves change colors in the fall. I enjoy looking at it from the inside though. I am mostly an inside person. I wasn't always like that though. When I was younger I loved to go outside, even when my allergies bothered me. I did not care, but now I'd rather stay inside and watch Netflix or something. I think I stopped going outside when I was around 12. One day I was outside in some tall grass that made my legs itch. I remember I kept lifting my legs up to scratch them. I was with my friend Ashley and we were about to get on our bikes, and ride back home. Then all of a sudden I started so sneeze and it was like I couldn't stop sneezing. My nose was burning and my eyes started to itch. In the past this has happened before, but never this bad. I eventually got home safely and went inside. I told my mom and she told me to lay down and take some medicine. Since then I just stopped playing outside, and didn't have the desire to be outside unless I had to. It is sad that the experience I had is how I stopped playing outside, but it is what is is.
That experience never changed my view on nature though. I still like looking at nature, especially when the seasons change. I love all the seasons expect spring. I HATE spring, pollen starts to fall, and you know what that means. I especially love fall though. All of the colors are so beautiful and calming. So in other words I am happy that its almost fall because to me it is the best time of the year. Also it is around the time of my birthday. :)
